If you are a terrible procrastinator like me, then you understand what is the desperate feeling of being pressed for time and having no gift prepared for someone (yet!). This is why I love mason jar gift ideas – they are awesome last-minute homemade gifts of food, that are never unappreciated!

Moreover, they are a great option for the “extra” people on your gift list who somehow tend to be overlooked (yep, until the last minute). Each sweet recipe can be presented inside a jar – just layer the dry ingredients, attach cooking instructions, a pretty ribbon and a holiday note to the recipient. That’s it! (see full instructions here)

I’ve already presented you the first 6 of my favorite gifts in a jar recipes here. See how charming mason jar gift ideas look like in the next selection of recipes in a jar.

#7 Mason Jar Gift Ideas for Cape Code Blondies with Dried Cranberries and White Chocolate Chips

mason jars recipes

The products to put into the jar are:

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 3/4 cup white chocolate chips

You’ll need also:

  • 8 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

To prepare this yummy dessert you need mixing: first all the wet ingredients in a large bowl, then add the content of the jar and mix thoroughly again. The “blondie” should be baked at 350 for 20-25 minutes. Don’t forget to grease the pan (you can always use bakery paper).

Layer in a large Mason jar: (12 portions)
 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup white (vanilla) baking chips
Grease a 9 x 9″ square baking dishPreheat oven to 350 degrees F (175° C).  Pour the contents of the jar into a large bowl and mix well. Stir in the wet ingredients as follows:
  1. 1 tsp. vanilla
  2. 2/3 cup vegetable oil
  3. 3 eggs

Mix thoroughly until ingredients are combined perfectly. Then pour into the pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. An easy trick to check if the dessert is ready is to insert a toothpick in the center of the brownie – if it comes out without any  moist crumbs, then it’s ready.

# 9 Funfetti Cookie Mix in a Jar

mason jar cookie gift ideas

This is a really quick recipe and one of my favorite mason jar gift ideas (I love M&M!). The ingredients for the jar are:

Optional for a decoration you can buy 6 inch round paper doily ( or why not handmade textile crochet if it’s thin enough) and holiday-themed ribbon.

Carefully empty entire contents of the cookie mix into your quart-sized wide mouth Mason Jar. Follow the tips for layering gift in a jar ingredients. Pour in Mini M&M’s. Put the silver jar topper on top, place a doily on top, then screw on the jar’s lid. Wrap some fun ribbon around the silver lid.

The full recipe includes also 2 eggs and 1/2 cup Vegetable  Oil, which must be beaten together in a bowl. Pour in the content of the jar, and stir well with a spoon. Shape small rounded balls. Bake for approx. 8 – 9 minutes at 350 degrees.

 # 9 Marshmallow Muffins

marshmallow muffins gift in a jar

What is better than a muffin? A chocolate muffin with a marshmallow surprise.:)

You’ll need to put in the 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar:

Layer the dry ingredients in the jar as listed above starting with the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, sugar, marshmallows and then chocolate chips. Press firmly with a flat bottomed object after each layer. Secure the lid and decorate as desired. Attaching the instructions tag is the final step.

For the final yummy result, the recipient should add 1¼ cups milk, 5 tablespoons butter melted and just 1 egg (and some muffin paper cups that are the perfect additional gift item for this recipe in a jar). The oven should be preheated to 375. It’s so easy – wet ingredients (stirred together in a large bowl) should be mixed with the jar content. Each muffin cup should be filled with the muffin mixture two-thirds or it’s size. Baking takes 20-25 minutes. (use the same trick with the toothpick). The great thing is that once prepared, muffins can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

#10 Gluten-Free Cookies

gluten-free cookies in a jar

Great Mason jar gifts idea for your gluten-free friends. This unconventional cookie recipe shows people how easy it can be to eat the gluten-free delicacy. The ingredients for this high-protein recipe are organic and as follows:

You’ve already known the procedure. It’s quite the same: place the dry ingredients in the 16-ounce mason jar ending with chocolate chips on top. The 4-ounce mason jar is for the wet ingredients (I like it! It’s making the things even simpler for your recipient!). Place the tag with baking instructions and tie a ribbon.

For the final result just mix the wet and dry ingredients in separate bowls.  Then mix well both to combine. Roll small cookies (with hands) and place them on a parchment paper. To shape the cookies, press the balls to flatten. Bake at 350° for 7-10 minutes and let them cool for 20 minutes before serving. Crunchy gluten-free cookies – healthy and also perfect for children! Can’t-miss this recipe!

You can find printable instructions for the tags here plus a video tutorial.
